You will need a four-wheel drive vehicle to access the property in the winter months. Be aware of snowfall and travel advisories. The driveway has been paved and can fit your vehicle and trailer. The garage is big enough to park your vehicle if you'd like, it will not fit a larger truck.
To get from Buckhorn Ranch to Mt. Crested Butte Ski Area without driving, you can use the Mountain Express shuttle service. It offers free transportation around Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte year-round. For the ski area, you have two primary options:
FirstTracks On-Demand Service: This service operates between 7:15 AM and midnight and provides front-door pickups at locations including Buckhorn Ranch. It will take you directly to Mountaineer Square or the CBMR base area. You can book a ride using their app or by calling their number directly (find this on google)
Town Shuttle: The regular Mountain Express shuttles run between downtown Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte every 15 minutes during peak hours in winter. You may need to connect from FirstTracks to this service depending on your destination.

It is illegal to feed or approach wildlife in Colorado- you could get a fine. Keep a safe distance and keep your food and trash locked up. The owners are highly allergic to cats. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate cats under any circumstances.

Convenient for skiing Crested Butte, nice home, great host! Just FYI the first tracks app wasn’t working for shuttle pickups from the home to the ski resort, but fortunately you can drive into town and park by the CB chamber of commerce and shuttle from there. Beautiful home and views, peaceful and cozy!
We LOVED Jill's place and will abdolutely book her stay if wee are bringina group to Crested Butte again! Her place was comfortable for 7 adults - two couples who slept between the couch and the bunk beds. The bathrooms were clean, drained well, etc. The kitchen was stocked! We were worried about basic spices and cooking oils. Jill had them all stocked! The pots and pans were unscratched and very reliable. The knives were sharp!!!!!! Her place is well located for downtown Crested Butte (within 10 minutes) and for the ski hill (20 ish minutes) as well as the Nordic Ski center (right by downtown). My fiance also enjoyed chatting with her neighbor, John, who is on one of the boards for the neighborhood. It was too bad Bo Nix broke his ankle and destroyed the Broncos' season, but they had a nice chat!
Beautiful home and great location. Was perfect and just what we were looking for. Just wish it was a tad cleaner!
