About the property
On the side of a quiet mountain with amazing views of the Continental Divide my place is close to Golden Gate State Park, Indian Peaks Wilderness, Nederland, Eldora Ski Resort, Black Hawk and Central City Casinos. You’ll love my place because of the comfy beds, the recently remodeled kitchen and baths, the outdoors space as well as the cool rock outcroppings and gorgeous Colorado sunsets. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
Our cabin was built in the 1960's and has just undergone a large renovation. We have remodeled the kitchen with modern appliances, as well as the upstairs bathroom, and we've added a bathroom to the lower level. Our cabin is at 9,000 ft elevation which allows for amazing views of, not only the Continental Divide, but the State Forest that butts right up against our property. This property also sits on 7 acres! *During the winter I recommend a 4 wheel drive car possible with chains. Make sure you check the weather before you arrive and if you have any questions keep in touch with me.
In the summer time any type of car can make its way up to our cabin, but during the winter we recommend, with the snow, that you take a 4- wheel drive vehicle. Also in the winter the county road is well maintained, but the driveway will most likely be inaccessible. Some walking in deep snow should be expected. We do not recommend use of the driveway when it is snowy and icy. Be aware of black ice, snow drifts and other Colorado Winter Driving Guidelines.
We have found that cell phone coverage is spotty for all cell phone carriers except for AT&T. We have Verizon and can infrequently send and receive calls and texts while at the cabin. We have a cabin phone that can make local calls if you need to get a hold of someone. The parking lot is monitored by a Ring system that does not record. We also have WiFi that you may use as well.
I live in Denver but if there is anything you need I am only 40 minutes away and would love to help with anything I can. We don't offer laundry in the cabin, but can give some good suggestions if laundry is needed..

This is the best place to stay. Enough said.
“Thanks for your patience” that is what I heard @ 20 times. It is code that there is a problem with my visit but they have no expectation to make it right for me. The code to get in was incorrect. There is no cell service so luckily I had the WiFi password and was able to call for help. After 20 minutes of being told to re-enter the code that continually failed to work I was then told there was a key in a lockbox that was accessible. 20 minutes of frustration and the answer was an easy answer? The kitchen smelled like burnt grease - turns out there was a dirty cooking sheet covered in grease in the oven. When I reached out to the host I was told “thanks for your patience”. This was an anniversary trip that I wanted to be perfect - it could have been. The views are amazing, but no accountability on the hosts part. Maybe someday hosts will feel a responsibility to make things right when there is an issue. They charge enough that it should have been possible.
Beautiful views! Clean space, responsive host, will definitely return.
